Are you looking for quality, ready-to-use private label rights content that won't cost you much money or take up valuable time to create yourself? Even if you have the resources and know-how to create your own content, using PLR can help you save time. Plus, we all love a shortcut, right?! You can find plenty of free PLR content if you know where to find it.
This guide provides an overview of what you need to know about free PLR and lists reputable sites to find PLR free online. Read on for my insider tips for finding free PLR content that's also high-quality and useful for your business.
My posts may include affiliate links. This means if you make a purchase after clicking one of my links, I may make some commission. But this will be at no extra cost to you. I only ever recommend things I trust and use myself (or have used). You can use my full disclaimer here.
If you're new around these parts, PLR stands for "private label rights," which means that someone has given you permission to rebrand and use their content as your own.
PLR comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes these days. With a variety of highly skilled PLR creators (including yours truly) and PLR material covering pretty much any topic, you won't be short of assets to help with content creation and help you grow your online business.
But what if you don't have much money to invest in your online business? Is it possible you grab yourself some free PLR content that has the same license conditions as paid PLR? It is an exciting day because the answer is yes! Keep reading to find out more.
Why Can You Get Free PLR Content?
Due to some PLR content being completely unusable or people selling thousands of poorly written articles very cheaply, PLR is often given a bad reputation. I've written about the myths connected with PLR products in this blog post and this one, too. I recommend reading these if you're unsure about the legitimacy of using PLR in your business.
Because of this, legitimate PLR creators and sellers, like myself, often need to take the time to prove themselves by offering a free download of their content. Of course, this is an excellent way to attract new customers and ensure that we deliver content that our audience wants to read.
However, offering free PLR content is also often a way to show that we are trustworthy content creators. Personally, I am more than happy to give away free content. In fact, the people on my email list have access to my freebie vault, which houses all the freebies I have created.
To make the most of your free PLR content, you need to make sure that you are using it strategically. Even if it is free, you still want to ensure it's helping your online business.
The best way to make sure that you are getting the most out of your PLR is to make sure that it's formatted so that your readers can get the most out of it. This might seem like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised how many people just throw together a blog post or let their email autoresponder be the only place where their PLR can be found.
In most cases, the license you get with free PLR should be the same as the PLR you might buy. Of course, every PLR site will probably have a slightly different license. However, for example, the license you get for my free PLR is precisely the same as the license you get for any of my paid products.
Check out the master resell rights or 'resale rights' associated with the free PLR content you receive. While the content is free, it's important to understand the rights reserved in order to make the most of it for your online business.
Using free PLR strategically goes beyond simply acquiring it; it's about ensuring that it aligns with your online business goals. Consider the rights attached to the content, whether it be personal use rights or potential resale rights.
The Potential Downside of Free PLR Content
Personally, I put as much thought and effort into my free PLR content as I do my paid PLR. Sure, my free packs will be much smaller than the ones you might buy. But the quality should be around the same.
However, this is not necessarily always the case. Some free PLR will not be very good. This will no doubt be because it is being used to grow an email list more than to provide value.
Hopefully, you'll not come across this very often. But I felt it was worth letting you know.
Types of Free PLR Content
Realistically, you can find all sorts of free PLR.
It is tough to say exactly what types of free PLR you'll be able to find if you go looking today. This is primarily because PLR businesses do change their freebies from time to time. Some may offer free PLR content for only short periods - such as during a launch. But others provide PLR content for free for a much more extended period.
Some people - like me - may offer access to a freebie vault where you can get access to a library of free PLR materials. My freebie vault also offers non-PLR content like guides and checklists. Generally, a free PLR product could be anything from a PLR eBook to a PLR article to a blog post.
You'll find this blog post helpful if you want a general idea of the types of PLR that people create.
Reputable Websites for Finding Free PLR Content
Now that you know what PLR content is and what types of free PLR content you can find, let's talk about where you can find it.
As I said, free PLR offers do change. Not only do they change, but there's no saying when they will change. Because of this, I've done two things below. Firstly, I have listed PLR sellers I trust and know for sure offer free PLR regularly. On top of this, I have listed this, where sellers have free content that doesn't change that often.
I will update this list as often as possible. But if you spot any errors, please let me know in the comments below.
The Happy Journals PLR Club - this is me, of course. I have a free PLR page that has tons of freebies to choose from. I also offer access to my freebie vault to all my email subscribers. This means you’ll get access to all of my freebies in one place.
PLR.me - This is one of the biggest PLR sites out there. They run on a credit purchase system, rather than a pay-per-product system. You are able to create a free account, which gets you 2 free credits a month. This doesn't sound like a lot, but they do have tons of written PLR assets for 1-2 credits each.
Publish for Prosperity - Run by Alice Seba, P4P has been around for many years. The site's main focus is on written personal development PLR. Alice has heaps of free PLR available to download, although not all of it is easy to find. Here's a handful of her free content I think you’ll find useful:
- Free 30 Days of Social Media Content
- Meditation for Focus and Success Free Done-for-You Content Package
- Prioritize Your Life Free Done-for-You Content Package
- Free Self-Doubt Report + 10-Part Ecourse Pack
- Free 10-Pack of Journaling Articles
- The Art of Self-Care Free PLR Articles
- Free 5 Pack of Daily Routine Articles
- Free 5 Pack of Dealing with Daily Distractions Articles
Tools for Motivation - These guys rate highly on my list of favourite PLR sellers. Again, they specialise in written personal development content. But remember, with creativity, written PLR can be turned into a whole world of different things.
Tools for Motivation do tend to switch up their free content offerings - often giving away free PLR during new product launches. But, I've done some digging around for you and I think you'll like these freebies:
- Why You Need Mentors
- Build A Winning Mindset
- Decision Making Essentials Free PLR
- Run Towards Fear free article
- Invest in You free PLR article
- Boosting Self-Image free PLR
- Embrace Rejection PLR article
- Breaking Goals Down Free PLR
PLR Planners - Di from PLR Planners is probably the first non-written PLR seller I ever met. She creates and sells PLR templates for you to use in your online business, like journals, planners and printables. She has three PLR freebies that I can find:
Createful Journals - Sue from Createful Journals also sells PLR templates - journals, planners, and printables. Like me, most of her templates are created in PowerPoint but she does sell Canva content, too. Her free PLR content includes:
PLR Beach - Becky from PLR Beach creates a huge range of PLR printables and planners - primarily focused on kids, parents and families in general. If you’re in need of this kind of thing for your business, you should be able to find what you need here. Becky's free PLR content includes:
Content Sparks - This site is perfect for if you’re in the business niche and are looking to create high quality courses for your customers.
Content Sparks don’t have a lot of free PLR (tip: sign up to their email list). However, I highly recommend grabbing their free 5-Day Online Course Challenge. This pack comes with a brandable, ready-to-teach course and daily videos to help you launch.
Health and Wellness PLR - Jennifer Anderson from Health and Wellness PLR is one of my favourite PLR sellers. She sells predominantly written PLR in the health, self-care, and personal development niches. Her free PLR content includes:
- Artificial Sweeteners PLR Pack
- Free Mindfulness During the Holidays PLR Report
- Healthy at Home Journaling Prompts
- Free PLR: Self-Care Sunday Report
Piggy Makes Bank - Susanne and Tracy from Piggy Makes Bank create done-for-you content that is perfect to create challenges, opt-ins, content upgrades, eBooks, and checklists. I absolutely adore their monthly 30-day packages. They sell content in the business, self-help and health niches. They offer these freebies:
- 7 Day Make Over Your Morning Mini-Challenge PLR
- Free Email Marketing PLR
- 7 Day Getting Over The Guilt Mini-Challenge PLR
- 7 Day Business Planning To Rock Your Year PLR
- 7 Ways to Stress Less and Love Life
- 7 Days to Establish a Better Bedtime Routine
PLR Of The Month - Run by Mel, PLR of the Month has a "full line of both printable and digital products, most of which come with full commercial use rights (AKA Private Label Rights). I recommend signing up to her email list as she sends out free PLR content every so often. But you can also grab this free Fall Fun Planner from her store.
A Cup of Zen - Gabby from A Cup Of Zen aims to make business as easy as possible for you by taking branding, design and digital marketing to the next level. She has templates to help you with branding your site, publishing your books, and market yourself across the web - including these free PLR products:
- Crystals for Meditation Pack
- Free Crystals Graphics
- Watercolor Backgrounds Digital Paper
- Free 7 Day Challenge Planner
the Bottom Line
PLR content is an excellent way to repurpose content that has already been written and save yourself time and effort. It's also a great way to add more value to your e-commerce store without creating new content from scratch. And best of all, you can find plenty of free PLR downloads on the internet. You just have to know where to look. Now that you know what free PLR content is and the best PLR websites to find it, you're ready to start creating excellent content at no cost.
