Your content is the most valuable asset you have as an online business. Content helps build trust with your audience, establish yourself as an authority in your field, and entice people to take action. But how do you repurpose that blog post for future use without giving the appearance that you are promoting a past article? When you take the time to curate and repurpose content, you’ll be able to deliver a lot of value to your audience without having to do a lot more work. Keep reading for the best ways to repurpose content as well as how to start curating content, too.

There is no reason why you would need to constantly create new content from scratch for every piece of content you put out to your audience. Instead, you can work smart. Working smart is how you get ahead in business.
Instead of getting stuck on the content creation hamster wheel. Why not try recycling content you’ve already created? By pulling content from an old blog post, creating a quick video or infographic, or using an existing blog post as the basis for another blog post, you can keep your content strategy simple.
What is content curation?
When you curate content, you decide which articles and blog posts to share on your blog. You can choose to use articles that you’ve written yourself, or you can find content from other sources.
While curation can be used in a variety of ways, for the most part, Content curation involves presenting other people’s content to an interested audience in a way that is useful, meaningful, and promotes understanding.
You can share it with your audience, along with your commentary on why you believe this is relevant and important. You can point out what about this curated content is useful, meaningful, and promote understanding of it by giving your point of view.
But to be clear, I do not mean you should steal or copy other people’s content. I would never tell you to do either of these things. You must always credit the original author.
What do we mean by repurposing?
Taking time to create and use content again in different ways is known as repurposing. This can be either private label rights content (PLR) or choosing to repurpose content you created in the past that is now being used again in a different way. This allows you to take the content in as many different directions as you want to and need to so that you can reach your audience.
Repurposing can be done in many ways. You can reuse existing content you've created on your website, or you can use it to create videos, podcasts, and slideshows. You can also repurpose your content by using it in your marketing campaigns, such as email marketing, social media posts, ads, and so much more.

They are also perfect to use for your own personal use
You can also repurpose content by adding value to it in the form of other relevant resources (books, webinars etc), which will increase its perceived value and make the reader want more from you. For example, if I was writing an ebook on how to cure low self-esteem, I might put together some recommended reading lists, including books on self-esteem, confidence-building techniques, and affirmations.
How curation works
Using content curation as a source for more content is an excellent and effective way to show your expertise and put relevant information in front of your audience so that they don’t have to go searching for it.
Get it right, and you could turn your website into a one-stop shop for all things within your niche. You just need to ensure you organise everything and focus on providing value to your audience.
Here are some great examples of how to make sure content curation works for you:
Create Roundup Posts
If you’re a blogger who talks a lot about food, home organisation, and children, you could easily do a roundup post with 9 Easy Lunch Ideas or 20 Truly Inventive Gadgets to Get Organised. For this, you would pull together stuff from other people’s posts into your own work.
If you’re talking about recipes, for example, you can write about why you like what you’re sharing with them, show how you’ve implemented it in your household, and even what you did not like about it and how you changed it, if that’s relevant.
Monetised Curation
You can even create a monetised curation. Instead of linking to only the content about the gadgets, you can provide links to each of the products. This way, you can earn a commission on the products if your audience buys them, which is an excellent way to use someone else’s content. Even so, you’ll still have to credit the original content.
Present the Work In a New Way
It is a fact that different people prefer different types of content. When using curation methods, it is a good idea to present it in a new way or format. For example, turn the new content into a branded PDF offer instead of using it in a blog post or roundup. The content upgrade encourages the readers to get on your list before they get to read the PDF
Share One Thing
You don’t always have to put the content in a roundup format. You can share one relevant, useful thing at a time. It’s essential that you fully understand and relate to the curated content so you can explain it, then present it to your audience in a way to help them understand why it’s relevant to them.
Share It Fast
When you find sources that your audience will use and enjoy and inspire them, don’t wait too long to share it. If possible, figure out a way to incorporate it into this week’s content. This quick action will boost your authority and position you as a leader.
How content repurposing works
You likely have already created a lot of content, purchased a lot of content, or have content that you’ve curated that you can present in a new way. Taking time to repurpose is an excellent way to make the most of what you already have.
There are two main benefits of repurposing content, which will boost your marketing efforts. These are value and time, which are the most precious things in any business.
1. Repurposing Adds Value
Repeating your points and your information in many ways helps your audience learn in a way that works best for them. Some people love blog posts, others prefer podcasts, and even more prefer video. When you use a variety of formats that they prefer, you’ll reach more people and increase their understanding.
2. Repurposing Content Saves You Time
If you’ve done the research and know the topic, you can easily present it in a new way without spending a lot of time. Turning a five-point blog post into a podcast is simply about delivering it in a suitable way for the podcast and not about recreating new information. Turning a more extended post into a webinar is also a lot easier than starting from scratch.
Two ways to repurpose your content
I spoke a lot about repurposing PLR in a five-part blog series a little while ago. If you want to start repurposing, this series might be of interest to you. But for now, here are two ideas for you to reuse your high-quality content.
Turn Your Blog Post Series into A Report
A report is a great way to give your audience highly valued information all at once. Even though they can read the posts on your blog, the convenience of downloading the more organised PDF version is very appealing, especially if they don’t have much time to read at the moment. This is my favourite way to repurpose content.
Make the report a little more attractive by adding pictures, case studies if you have them, and more links and examples.
Change the Format of PLR You Buy
If you’ve purchased PLR articles, reports, eBooks, courses, and so forth, you definitely have content to repurpose. It’s all probably great to use as is first. Then, you’ll want to change it around. Take a pre-written course and turn it into a blog series. Take individual blog posts about one topic and turn them into a social media series. Repurposing for social media is fun and super beneficial.
Use your imagination and try to look at your high-performing content in different ways and imagine how it can be put to use again.
The Bottom Line
Content creation can be hard going. So, taking time to repurpose content can be a great way to create content to keep your audience engaged without having to create everything from scratch. Repurposing is a great way to extend your articles and blog posts. Likewise, it's also a great way to attract new leads and build your audience.
For me, one of the best ways to repurpose content is on social media. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram are great places to share repurposed content. By sharing your repurposed content on these social platforms, you can gain more exposure for your business without having to create original content.
You have to be more cautious about repurposing curated content. You cannot rewrite it; it’s not yours. You still have to link to the original content for your audience to read elsewhere.
Try repurposing, and let me know how you get on in the comments below.
